The Three Critical Phases of Building a Phenomenal Brand

3 Mins read

Without a good brand behind you, you are going to be much less confident in the ability of your business to succeed as you want it to. A brand can be a powerful instigator of what you want in business, and without it you are going to struggle to be quite the same kind of effective business owner. Of course, the issue of branding is something that many people have spoken about before, and it might be that you have already read and researched on the topic a lot. But it is important to look specifically at some of the early branding that businesses have to do. The more you get these first stages right, the more likely it is that whatever follows will be effective, so this is going to be hugely important to think about. In this article, we are going to take a look at some of these early stages of brand development, so that you can hope to create a much more powerful brand indeed.

Start with Personality

The best brands are those which you can think of as being like people. If you can picture your brand as an individual human being, then you have done a pretty good job of making it something that can have a strong reality in people’s minds. If you start with personality, you are going to have to think about what it is that makes your brand a unique ‘person’. It might be their wit or their ability to see the light in things, or whatever else. It can literally be anything at all, but the point is that you need to be fully aware of what kind of personality you are creating for your brand. Once you are clear on that, you can then think about what you need to do in order to make sure that you present that personality. If you take a look at many of the brands on social media these days, it is pretty clear that this is the approach they are taking. But wherever you present it, there should be this sense of a personality.

Think About Placement

A lot of people make the mistake of creating their brand and then waiting until much later to be able to place it well. But the truth is that you will have much more luck if you think about brand placement early on, rather than leaving it to the last minute. If you think about it, this actually makes perfect sense. If you know that your branding is going to primarily be on a custom sports bottle or a pencil case, then you have some idea of how it needs to appear. Whereas, if it is to be solely social media-based, or just on billboards, it might have a different overall look altogether. Think about placement early on, and you should find that you are going to have a much better time of creating a brand that is wholly effective. If you forget to think about it, however, you could end up in trouble.

Go for Something Original

One of the most essential things you need to make sure of, of course, is that you are creating something original for your brand. As long as that is the case, it means that it is going to be a lot more effective on the whole, so that is absolutely something that you are going to want to think about early on. Ensuring originality is something of a challenge for anyone, but with the right kind of attitude you should be able to make sure that you are going to make it a reality. The way to create something truly original is to think about what it is that makes your business stand out from the rest. If you can hone in on that one really unique thing, then you can use that to inform the design of the brand itself. This is going to result in a brand which has much more luck in drawing people in, and it is something you need to think about while you are still in the early design stages of the branding process.

With great originality, your brand will have much more of a chance to shine, so to speak, so this is going to be a hugely important thing to think about. You will find that it leads to much more the kind of brand you are hoping for, and that is something that you can think about early on.
